Dear Victor,
If there were a “house of visionary lyricism”, then your work would be the key to that house.
I still remember exactly the day I was first confronted by your art. It was a beautiful sunny day in the spring of 1993. The exhibition room was flooded with daylight, which gave a powerful radiance to his shimmering colors.
That day was the beginning of a new and enriching experience for me, which continues to this day.
The first impressions of his work on me were indescribable; I have to admit that I was perplexed at first. All the electrifying colors and shapes seemed to pour chaotically into the depths of my spirit and soul. I didn’t know what to do with all this energy. At the same time, a strange sensation of warmth made me shiver and my soul was deeply moved. That day, I was so overwhelmed that I left his house shaken by conflicting emotions. But I absolutely had to come back the next day because something had lit a fire in me, something that led me straight to his paintings. This something grew, opening in me the first personal dialog with his art, impossible to explain, at first only almost insinuated, but fascinating. That painting, which I was finally able to call my own that very night, touched me in a strange way. Strange perhaps because the striking and unknown shapes, colors and vibrations overlapped with my own feelings, creating an intimate dialogue.
This extraordinary dialog with that image, after so many years, still continues, a fascinating phenomenon that leads me every day to new glimpses, to new discoveries. That’s the secret of your art, Victor, and it’s what makes me an addict. Over the years, I’ve had to acquire more of your masterpieces. Today, each one has its own place in my home.
Guests to my home who see your paintings are often enchanted by their magic and draw inspiration from them. Interesting discussions develop as a result. This is how the idea of organizing exhibitions in Germany came about. The first private exhibition was a wonderful success. This was followed by other exhibitions and over the years many of your paintings were sold. You’ve done so well in Germany, Victor, and the number of your devotees continues to grow by leaps and bounds. It would be nice if you could come and see us again in Germany: you and your pictures!
Your German friend and agent,
